60 West Cordova
Glass artwork reflects project’s vision of inclusion
60 W Cordova is a prototype for inclusive housing located in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. Collaborating with key non-profits, developer Westbank employed a number of strategies including reduced parking, efficient use of space and a shared maintenance program to create affordable housing.
Almost as inspiring as the vision of the project, is a public art display that is incorporated into the building façade. Illuminated by solar-powered LED the glass panels by Phoenix depict silhouettes of people supporting other people.
