High-tech educational centre capitalizes on natural views

The coastal town of Colwood, British Columbia has big plans for the future with the development of Royal Bay Secondary School marking the beginning of the first phase.

With a current population of only 16,000, the town’s strategic 2020 Vision Plan outlines a clear growth plan that begins with the development of Royal Bay area. The 189 hectare site, which boasts spectacular view of the Strait of Juan de Fuca will be transformed into a waterfront master-planned community.

Marking the first prominent development in the area, Royal Bay Secondary is a high-tech educational facility designed by Hughes Condon Marler Architects to take advantage of the site’s magnificent view. Phoenix Glass began work on Phase 1 of the project in May, 2014.
