Anyone who lives in Vancouver already knows that it is one of the most liveable cities in the world, unique both in its architecture and quality of life.

Brian Jackson, in charge of planning and development for the City of Vancouver initially proposed the idea for the Vancouver Urban Design Awards as a way to recognize this relationship between urban design, sustainability in design and ultimately, liveability.

“We wanted to celebrate those architects and urban designs and owners who have pushed the limits and responded to unique circumstances and have really pushed the envelope in terms of design excellence,” says Jackson.

Phoenix proudly participated in five of the winning projects for Urban Design Excellence presented at the VanDusen Botanical Garden during the inaugural awards.

At Phoenix, we are proud of our contribution to these projects and others that represent sustainable design that supports a high quality of living. We would like to extend our congratulations to all award recipients.
