Creating a stunning inclusive facility and religious sanctuary

The Central Presbyterian Church redevelopment started as a unique partnership between the church and a developer, which resulted in the creation of an inclusive facility to accommodate local residents and a religious sanctuary to meet members’ spiritual needs.

Public art designed by Michael Lin of Hong Kong, envelopes the church space and entire building podium with coloured fritted crosses inkjet printed on glass. The 30,000 ft2 glass canvas becomes a reflective, translucent skin that engages with the community, distinguishes the worship space, and dramatically illuminates the sanctuary at dusk. Titled RGB, the installation showcases Phoenix Glass’s ability to execute highly customized, artist-led glazing solutions with both technical accuracy and aesthetic impact.

Other project highlights by Phoenix Glass include the installation of curtain walls, glass canopies, interior and exterior doors and interior glazing.
