Winning both the Lieutenant Governor of BC Award for Architecture and Athletic Business Facility of Merit Award, the Killarney Community Pool is a state-of-the-art community centre that includes numerous amenities including ice rink, lap pool, hot and leisure pools, as well as multi-purpose and administrative spaces.

Replacing an outdated facility, the new building was designed to be a light-filled beacon of the community and optimize views of an adjacent park and the mountains beyond. Curtain wall along the building’s face was designed with the lightest possible structural system to showcase the view while incorporating art-glass for visual interest along with motorized curtain wall vents for natural air circulation.
